Rose Hips (Rosa canina & Rosa rubiginosa)
Rose hips are the vibrant fruits that develop after rose blossoms fade, ripening from late summer through autumn. Our organic rose hips are harvested from Rosa canina and Rosa rubiginosa before being carefully dried to preserve their naturally tart flavor and nutritional value. Fresh rose hips are edible, while the dried fruits are commonly prepared as teas, syrups, jams, jellies, soups, and herbal infusions.
Long valued in traditional herbalism, rose hips are among the richest natural sources of vitamin C. During World War II, the British government encouraged the collection of wild rose hips to produce syrup as a substitute for citrus fruits, which had become scarce. Today, rose hips remain a favorite ingredient in herbal teas and wellness blends, appreciated for both their bright flavor and longstanding reputation as a nourishing botanical.
