Vitex Berry (Vitex agnus-castus)

Native to the Mediterranean, vitex—also known as chaste tree or monk's pepper—is now cultivated throughout temperate regions of the world. For thousands of years, the berries have been used in traditional European herbalism to support women's reproductive wellness. Greek and Roman writings, including those of Dioscorides, describe its historical use, and the plant became associated with chastity and faithfulness through both mythology and medieval tradition.
